Tahquamenon Falls State Park The beauty of this area is a must see when you are making your travel plans. Within the state park you will find many activities such as birding, fishing, hiking, sight-seeing, camping, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, and more. Tahquamenon Falls Wilderness Excursion Toonerville Trolley and Riverboat Tours The TOONERVILLE TROLLEY, an authentic narrow gauge railroad, takes you 5 1/2 miles through thick forest, the habitat of bear, deer, moose, gray wolf, and many types of birds. This incredible train has been in operation since its early beginnings in 1927. This unique train ride and river boat tour brings guests to the Upper Tahquamenon Falls. Distance: 12 miles

Tahquamenon Logging Museum & Nature Study The Tahquamenon Logging Museum and Nature Study, located just 1 1/2 miles North of Newberry Michigan, invites you to come to their museum and park to explore the original buildings and memorabilia from lumberjack days of the past. Come and see the original C.C.C. buildings full of old photos, models and original logging equipment. Eat a real lumberjack's breakfast in the Authentic Cookshack made over a wood stove with home made care and goodness. Distance: 6 miles

Oswalds Bear Ranch A unique bear ranch now featuring three large natural habitats. Hike through them, as cars are not permitted to disturb the animals, and take advantage of the souvenir shop. In the spring and early summer enjoy the new year's cubs that play and bring fun to the ranch. Open Memorial Day weekend through September. Distance: 10 miles

Picture Rocks Boat Tours Come and explore the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore from the comfort of our Tour Boats! The views are breathtaking, up close and wonderful! Sandstone cliffs, beaches, sand dunes, & waterfalls along the Lake Superior Shoreline will delight viewers of all ages. Distance: 75 miles

The Seney Wildlife Refuge In 1935 Seney National Wildlife Refuge was established as a refuge and breeding ground for migratory birds and other wildlife. Today, Seney supports a variety of wildlife, including endangered and reintroduced species. Bald eagles, common loons, and trumpeter swans are regularly seen during the summer months. The Seney national Wildlife Refuge is located off Highway M-77, five miles south of Seney, or two miles north of Germfask. Distance: 26 miles

Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum, where shipwreck legends come to life! Open mid-May through mid-October. Distance: 37 miles Mackinac Island is a place where visitors vacation to step back into time where horses and bikes are the only form of transportation. Famous place to visit since the 1800's. Distance: 60 miles Soo Locks and Soo Locks Boat Tours, world's biggest and busiest locking system. Ride though on a boat tour from May 15th to October 15th. Distance 70 miles

We have several area bait, tackle, and hunting supply shops in Newberry.
